Societies

Best Society

This award is presented to the society who has successfully engaged their new and existing membership this year. They have run a range of innovative and diverse events to a very high standard. They have a proven record of effectively working with Students’ Union departments, other societies, and the university to fulfil the aims and objectives as set out in their society’s constitution.

Nominations are as follows:

Best Publicity

This award is presented to the society considered to have produced the most effective and widespread use of print and live media to advertise their society, and their activities. They have kept an up-to-date and user friendly website containing a range of information on their society and activities. They have been innovative in their attempts to advertise their society’s activities to the wider student/local communities.

Best New Society

This award is presented to a society newly affiliated in 2009/2010. They have made efforts to ensure the society can develop by engaging membership.

Most Improved Society

This award is presented to the society that has exhibited a marked improvement in the running and organisation of the society since committee handover. They have organised and run successful meetings and/or events which are unlike any the society has arranged before.

Best Collaboration

This award is presented to a group of societies/a society who has worked with another club or department of SUSU, to run an effective event or project.

This award is presented to the society who through effective use of advertising, organisation, and the resources the society has available to them has run the best society event this year.

Student Festival Award

This award is presented to the society who makes the greatest impact at this year Student Festival .
